Certification
Food service professionals working in corrections assume enormous responsibilities, ranging from the health and safety of their confined populations, to management and budget issues. ACFSA promotes professionalism at all levels of correctional food service through our education and certification programs. Certification programs help establish and maintain high professional standards within correctional food service. Certification also encourages ACFSA members to increase their knowledge and achieve higher levels of excellence within their profession.Dietitians in Corrections
supports the work of the food service team's nutrition and dietetics experts--professional dietitians. Our special Dietitians in Corrections web area provides timely information and resources for dietitians working in all aspects of correctional food service.
ACFSA certification programs:
Certified Correctional Foodservice Professional (CCFP) For individuals who work in correctional food service and have reached specific achievement goals. *Re-certification is required every four years. |
Certified Correctional Food Systems Manager (CFSM) A study course and certification geared specifically for food service line supervisors. *Re-certification is required every two years. |
